Tips and Advice

Healthy Hair

To keep good healthy hair it is important not use too much heat, hair straightners are the worse tool that damages hair if used every day, try finding a good heat protection spray, there are many products on the market today, it's matter of  trial and error about what works well with your hair, some can make the hair greasy and clammy if too much is used. Also if you have hair colour or highlight, it is good to find a shampoo conditioner that suits your hair, although, it is important to change your hair products once in a while.

Having a trim every six to eight weeks is also advisable and be sure get sufficient vitamins and minerals, B12, Iron are very good, as well as good and healthy diet.

Greasy Hair

Greasy hair is due to a build-up of the natural secretion from glands in the scalp. To help prevent, avoid, get rid or even possibly cure greasy hair, wash as often as necessary to keep it clean and in good condition. Washing too much can encourage the natural oils from the glands and hair shaft. Shampoos for greasy hair are specially formulated to remove natural grease. Use a mild ph-balanced shampoo and wash hair without rubbing your scalp too much.

Dry Damaged Hair

Dry, damaged and brittle hair can be caused by too much heat or colouring, to help prevent and treat dry hair it has to be nourished from within. A normal conditioner will not really help. Try using an intense moisturising shampoo, with gentle motion when rubbing. Look for a hot oil conditioner which heats up the hair cuticles and allows the moisturiser to get deep into the hair shaft. This should help give suppleness, bounce and movement. Repeat this once a week, reducing when hair is back in a reasonable condition. Use a leave-in conditioner or styling products with conditioner . Try to avoid heat if necessary. Hair products like mousse will make it look dull, use a blow drying or thickening lotion instead.

Frizzy Hair

Frizzy hair can be hard to control and annoying at times for styling. Keeping the hair conditioned with a rich moisturising product may help. When having a hair cut, stay clear of short layers, having few long ones will allow your hair to flow. Also use a diffuser when blow-drying,  this will help control the frizz. There are many frizz control products on the market today,  little serum used correctly will help.

Keeping Colour Vibrant

To keep the colour or highlights of your  hair vibrant and healthy, use a shampoo and conditioner as well as products for colour treated hair. There are now many products on the market that specialise in certain colours, i.e., red, blonde, brunette e.t.c.

Training a Fringe

Training a fringe can be a difficult task to do but perseverance and patience is the key. Clipping the hair down into place can be very effective if a side fringe. A forward fringe is more challenging, especially if you have always had a hair style where your hair is set backwards, a heated roller can help train this. When styling always blow dry your fringe into place with a small brush, straighteners and use plenty of hairspray. help.

Child's First Hair Cut

When it comes to a child having their first hair cut it can be quite an experience for them. Just imagine a total stranger in a strange place coming at you with a pair of scissors in hand, the noise in a salon and lots going on. Let the child know what is going to happen make it an adventure for them, it is always good idea if possible to bring along their favourite dolly or teddy to have their hair cut too. Let the hair dresser know that is the first cut so they are aware of making the child feel at ease and assure them all is to be okay.
